    Overview
    The Junior Estimator is responsible for the overall project estimate under the supervision of the Chief Estimator and/or designated Senior Estimator. Works with clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors/ suppliers to plan cost factors for building projects; analyzes construction documents, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects by performing the following duties.

    Duties

    • JUNIOR ESTIMATOR:
    • Prepares estimates with the proper level of detail for all design stages:

    Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents.

    • Studies specifications to assist the operations team in planning procedures for construction on the basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.
    • Researches construction documents and analyzes specifications to determine estimated costs.
    • Works with the operations team throughout the preconstruction process in reviewing plans and specifications for constructability issues and determining general requirements on the project.
    • Prepares quantity take-offs and estimates costs of materials, labor, and use of equipment required to fulfill all provisions of the contract.
    • Assists with system analysis of building components.
    • Review subcontractor and supplier bids for conformity to contract requirements and determines acceptable bids.

    ESTIMATING ASSISTANT:

    • Ensure bid and proposal documentation is formatted, collated, and presented professionally.
    • Data entry on quotation information.
    • Maintenance and reporting of Quotation data
    • Monitor bid/quotation throughout the process, providing weekly status/exception reports as required.
    • Undertake other administrative tasks as required.

    Required Education and Experience

    Education:

    · B.S. degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or Business or equivalent field experience.

    Experience:

    · Minimum of two (2) years of estimating experience in the asphalt paving/civil engineering industry.

    • Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.)
    • Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
    • Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)

    Required Competencies

    Skills:

    • Capability to complete large CM/GC, CMaR, and Design Build projects and large, complex competitive bid projects
    • History of successfully working internally with the operational team and externally with Owners, Architects/Engineers, and subcontractors.
    • Self-starter/takes initiative
    • Follow-up and follows-through
    • Strong communication skills
    • Flexible and reliable (punctual and attendance)
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Strong time management

    Required Education and Experience

  • Commercial Driver, Class A (DAY SHIFT)

    Job Overview

    Driver who possesses a California Commercial Driver License, class A. He/she meets the physical requirements set by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and is able to work long hours. Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of freight on board.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Demonstrate full competency in safe driving the assigned vehicle.
    • Drive vehicles with a gross vehicle weight over 26,000 lbs.
    • Pull towed weight exceeding 20,000 lbs.
    • Perform a thorough inspection of vehicle before and after each shift.
    • Responsible for tire inflation by using tire gauge and recommended PSI.
    • Responsible for checking assigned vehicle fluids.
    • Reports all defects to maintenance supervisor.
    • Track and report hours via Telematics system PeopleNet.
    • Maintain communication with dispatch throughout the assigned shift.
    • Adhere to company’s safety standards.
    • Responsible for completing and submitting administrative paperwork.

    Qualifications

    • Must have current California Commercial Driver License, class A/B.
    • Current Medical Card issued by an approved medical examiner.
    • 1+ year of experience (preferred).
    • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
    • Have strong communication skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to read and write.
